SUMMER
READING ASSIGNMENT
All students are to read
Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. The
students will complete two projects and be given a quiz on the book
the first week of school.
PROJECT
#1 - Written Report
Due first day of school
Choose one of the main
characters and describe how that person evolved/changed from their
introduction to the conclusion of the story. Describe who the
character is and the relationship to the other characters. You
should include information given in the story. You should also
include how you feel about the character giving examples.
This report is due the
first day of school. It is to be typed. Minimum of two
full pages, font Times New Roman, size 12, and double spaced with
standard margins. Title page will include the character's name
as title. Bottom right hand corner will have your name, grade
and date.
PROJECT
#2 - Visual Project
Due first day
of school
You are to pick a scene
from the story and depict it in a visual manner. you may make
a video of the scene, you may put on a live performance, or you may
make a model of the scene. You could put on a PowerPoint
presentation of the scene. Use your creativity.
Children may work
individually or in groups for this project. This project is
also due the first day of school. If you are performing and
you need costumes you should bring them to school. If you are
doing a PowerPoint presentation, a printout should be delivered to
school on the first day and we will then schedule the actual
presentation. You have a screen and DVD player available to
use in class.
