new language is the first step toward increasing our
awareness of the world, its languages and cultures.
St. Joseph School offers their students the opportunity to
learn Spanish in an enjoyable yet enriching learning
experience and encouraged to carry out their newly acquired
knowledge to real-life context
GRADES K-5
In Grades K-5 students are taught basic vocabulary (numbers,
months of the year, colors, days of the week, etc.) along
with basic greetings, writing, reading, and listening
skills. Various activities are used to reinforce
lessons, such as art projects, celebrations of holidays, and
songs.
GRADES 6-8
The Spanish language is taken to a higher step in Grades
6-8. Students will have a better understanding of the
language with lessons emphasizing grammar. With weekly
projects, activities, and homework students will build the
confidence to read, write sentences, develop short stories,
and engage in more conversation.
